At AllAces Cleaning & Restoration, we are offer extremely thorough squalor and hoarding clean-up services.

What is Involved

While not always mutually exclusive, hoarding and squalor are two distinct sects and require a slight variance in process and procedure: 

Hoarding 

Hoarding speaks to the accumulation of an exuberant number of items. Occupants find it extremely difficult to part with their possessions and so their collection of material goods increases beyond a functional level. 

Squalor 

Squalor refers to an amassing of filth, rather than physical items. Rotting food, animal and human waste, soiling, rubbish and bad odours build up over an extended period and seriously threaten the health of occupants.  

Our hoarding and squalor remediation services will always start with a detailed understanding of the scope of works. We speak to all available stakeholders, review photos and attend site to help us develop a clear understanding of what work needs to be carried out. A typical hoarding and/or squalor job will see our technicians engage in a selection of the following activities: 

  • A walk through with the site contact to determine what contents are to be removed and discarded. 
  • All negotiated furniture, fixtures and appliance will be stripped from the house and removed for either remediation or disposal. 
  • Carpet and window furnishings will be either removed, or decontaminated. 
  • A thorough sanitisation of the property will be carried out to ensure it is safe for inhabitants to return to. 
  • An odour and/or mould remediation will be conducted, if necessary 
  • A final walk through is conducted with the initial site contact for sign-off.

FAQs

Do you offer tidying services as well?

No, in cases of hoarding and/or squalor, AllAces is known for doing the heavy lifting. We remove items that need discarding, sanitise where needed and conduct odour and/or mould remediation where necessary. For any 'tidying' you will need to source a maid service.

For hoarding, is it a very collaborative process?

Yes and no. Our experience has proven that while it is very important for both sides to work together to really define the job scope and expected outcome, we do not recommend allowing anyone to be on-site while we work. Hoarders can become very distressed throughout the process and it is best not to have them near the property.

My client/family member is finding this process very difficult, are you flexible on timing?

We understand that this can be a very distressing, and even traumatic process for the people involved. We will always try our best to be as flexible as possible, however, we can only work within the parameters of our schedule so delays could push the project as far as a week behind schedule.

Will my property actually be clean?

Yes, our technicians are all trained and certified. We follow all relevant guidelines and use medical-grade chemicals on all our jobs.
