Frequently Asked Questions
Our team are just a phone call away if we haven’t answered all your questions here.
Professional rug cleaning removes deep-seated dirt and allergens, restores the rug’s appearance, and extends its lifespan by preventing wear from accumulated debris.
Rugs should be professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months, though high-traffic areas or homes with pets might require more frequent cleaning.
Professionals use a variety of techniques, including steam cleaning for deep sanitisation, dry cleaning for delicate fabrics, and hand washing for antique or sensitive rugs.
We offer both options depending on your needs and the specific type of rug. For a standard maintenance clean, we can often steam clean your rugs on-site at your property. However, for heavily soiled rugs, delicate natural fibres, or those requiring specialised stain and odour immersion treatments, we highly recommend taking them to our dedicated rug washing facility for a comprehensive deep clean.
Absolutely. We understand that specialty, antique, and hand-woven rugs are valuable investments. Before any cleaning begins, our technicians carefully inspect the rug’s fibres, construction, and colourfastness. We then tailor our cleaning methods, often utilising gentle, specialised hand-washing techniques, to ensure your delicate natural fibres and vibrant colours are thoroughly cleaned without any risk of damage or shrinkage.
Yes, it can. When pet accidents happen, urine can penetrate deep into the rug’s fibres and foundation. Standard household cleaners often just mask the smell temporarily, but our professional treatments utilise advanced enzymatic cleaning solutions that actively break down the bacteria causing the odour at the source. We flush the contaminants out completely, leaving your rug fresh, sanitised, and safe for your family.
Rug fringes are typically made of cotton or silk and require a completely different, much more delicate cleaning approach than the main body of the rug. Our technicians carefully detail the fringes by hand using specialised treatments to safely lift dirt, brighten the material, and detangle the tassels. We strictly avoid using harsh bleaches, which can quickly weaken and destroy delicate fringe fibres.
