Moisture Detection Services

Moisture Detection Services

At AllAces Cleaning & Restoration we make sure that moisture can be found and removed as needed after water damage has occurred. We use many services that comply with the AS/NZS 245.1:2007 standard.

Our Services

  • We review structures by using Gyprock scales and wall-penetrating pin probes. Our scales can work even if you do not have surfaces that can be penetrated.
  • A flat meter will be used for concrete surfaces in moisture detection. We use this non-penetrating material in most cases, but we can also work with a hygrometer and a small drill hole for some thick surfaces to ensure that there is no moisture in these spots.
  • We also review the air in your surface by using monitors to analyse the specific humidity and dew point in a room. This includes the total grains per pound that is in the air.
  • Your carpet will be inspected with a pin probe with a wet or dry material and a WME scale. All of these are used to help ensure that different items are covered well

Moisture meters are often used to make it easier for us to figure out what is going on with your property in moisture detection services. For instance, we use Delmhorst’s Total Check three-in-one meter. This uses scan and pin modes and can measure ambient temperatures and dew point plus GPP. Relative humidity is also measured to figure out how a concrete subfloor is operating. The RH sensor particularly works well for handling the ASTM F-2170 standard to see if the concrete floors are dry.

The Dri-Eaz GE Protimeter MMS Plus monitor is also used with measurement features and a data logger. It uses a hygrometer to measure humidity, temperature, and dewpoint plus the GPP in a space. The Protimeter Hygrostic system is easy to replace. It also uses a pin measurement tool for wood and even has a hammer electrode. A pin-less mode is also used with radio frequencies that load information into a data logger to analyse moisture content in a space.

The hammer electrode is particularly interesting to see as it can move through sub floors at 1.38 inches to analyse moisture content. This is compatible with the MMS Plus and Surveymaster SM systems.

The Tramex CME4 Concrete Encounter material can be used to measure moisture content to see how a concrete floor is being used without having to drill anything. It can read moisture at up to 6% concrete and can be held against a surface to measure it. It works without any invasive procedures.

The Hydrosensor II is the last thing that we use here at AllAces. It uses a collapsible shaft that can extend to 31 inches long and uses nickel-plated materials to find moisture content above 17% and can be used on carpets and pads. It is a stainless-steel material that has retractable items that can be collapsed for protection when not used and when it must be stored properly. This is all to make the system very easy to operate with.
