Cleaning of Terracotta Tiles

Do you need assistance with cleaning and sealing terracotta tiles?

Anyone who has terracotta tiles will appreciate the fact that they are available in different porosities.

Some are denser than others, with those used in outdoor areas being generally less porous because they are made from a harder compound. This means outdoor terracotta is harder to clean and this is one of the reasons as to why they need some form of sealing before one can proceed to do the cleaning.

When it comes to sealing, nobody does it better than our Technicians who have certifications through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. They apply a brilliant impregnating sealer that allow you to make use of a neutral detergent. It also ensures the cleaning job is easier since all you need to do is clean using a brush and water pressure. This ensures that the terracotta remains intact even after the sealing has been done.

The indoor terracotta tiles tend to be more porous. This makes the task of cleaning a bit harder. That is why a water based sealer is used in such cases. It is well placed over the terracotta and this will ensure that it looks glossy. Cleaning is easier when the sealing has been done. One can also choose to make use of a penetrating solvent sealer but this makes mopping harder. This is why a good alternative is to make use of a top coat solvent sealer even though applying it is a bit harder.
