Sewage Water Overflow

Let’s face it, there is nothing worse than the smell of sewage water or a septic tank at the best of times but imagine having one of the above overflow and flood throughout your home or commercial property!

One of our clients discovered just that when they returned from their holiday recently. They arrived to find a horrendous stench and muck throughout their property. Our technicians arrived at the property within the hour in this instance and set out immediately to extract excess water and apply an anti-microbial solution to sanitise the area and make it safe. Air scrubbers with HEPA Filters were then used to clean the air and ensure it was breathable and sanitary for further work to be safely carried out.

Upon further inspection our technicians realised that although the overflow was at around 3 inches deep when they arrived, the levels originally were at around 10 inches deep due to tell-tale markings along the walls and furnishings. As the water had been sitting for days before it was discovered we knew the damage would be rather extensive and the potential for further problems like mould infestation would be very high. The linoleum floor, skirting boards, kitchen kickboards and walls up to 500mm were removed and disposed of along with all soft furnishings affected and deemed to be not restorable.

Several structural drying fans and dehumidifiers were installed to dry the timber frames and concrete subfloor. A state of the art Hydroxyl Machine was also used to cleanse the air. This machine is also used to remove and dust and mould particles that may be present.
