The team at All Aces Services received a distressed call from the property manager at a real estate around lunchtime last week. The manager advised us that the tenants from one of their properties based on the north side of Brisbane had called them regarding a sewerage back up problem. Faeces and sludge had overflowed and escaped through both the shower drain and toilet on the lower level of the property and needed urgent attention.
When All Aces technicians arrived at the property early afternoon for the clean-up it was obvious that both the carpet and concrete floorings were effected dramatically. Firstly the area was thoroughly sprayed with anti-microbial solution to ensure the safety of both tenants and technicians. The sewage was then extracted with our truck-mount machine using a dual action of high pressure hot water and water extraction which happens simultaneously to remove both any standing water and sludge from the area. Unfortunately as sewage is a biohazard and hazardous to the occupants all affected carpet needed to be removed and deemed to be not restorable.
Once the carpet was removed our technicians sprayed all affected surfaces again with the anti-microbial solution and completed one last dual clean with a disinfecting and sanitising solution.
When this call came through to our office it was imperative we acted as quickly as possible. The category sewage is placed in is called Black Water. Our team follows the S 500 standard, laid out by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification. Black Water is the most hazardous category of water incursion as it contains very high levels of pathogens, bacteria and potentially lethal contaminants so is therefore treated very seriously.
